How To Clean Your Food Processor

The Cuisinart food processor is a great thing to have and to use because it will help you to chop up vegetables, fruits, and other types of foods for you in seconds. It saves you from having to cut them up by hand and blend them together to make that perfect meal for your husband or dinner party.

Using the food processor is a whole lot easier then cleaning it. It uses many parts – which have to be taken out and cleaned carefully. We have the tips that will teach you how to do it safely and to get all of the food out of it.

  • The first thing that you will have to do is to take the food processor apart. There are many pieces and each one of them have particles of food on them that can only be removed with careful washing. Be careful when removing the blade and try to remember how each part fits.
  • Each part that you removed can be washed in warm water with dish detergent and a sponge. Do not use any type of abrasive pads or cleaners on these parts as they might scratch them and ruin them. The blades cannot soak in water – but should be cleaned first. To make things quicker for you it is possible to wash all the parts, except for the blades, in the dishwasher.
  • Use a damp cloth to wipe down the base of the food processor. This cannot be put in water because the motor is inside of it.
  • Allow all of the pieces to dry completely before you reassemble and store it.
  • If you notice a funny smell coming from your food processor and no amount of washing is getting it out then you should try soaking it in baking soda and water for fifteen minutes.
