How To Clean Your Blender

Your Cuisinart blender will be a lifesaver in times when you need to cook dinner quickly before you have to pick the children up from school or if you are merely running behind schedule. It allows you to cut your food up or blend everything perfectly together instead of you having to do it by hand.

It is very useful and because of this we need to make sure that it is clean and ready to be used whenever we need it. There can be a few parts to the blender and for many of us it might seem like a complicated chore to have to clean it. However, with the right directions we can show you how to do it safely and effectively.

Directions

  • First you need to make sure that the blender is firmly on top of the base before you do anything. This will keep it securely in place and will help to prevent any accidents.
  • Fill it halfway with warm water.
  • Add one to two drops of dish detergent and half a lemon. The lemon and the lemon rind helps to remove any particles from the blade and is perfect for removing any unwanted odors.
  • Plug it in and place the lid back on.
  • Turn it on to the lowest blending option and leave it on for thirty seconds.
  • When it is done look inside to make sure that all particles have been removed.
  • Now pour the liquid down the sink and rinse it with cold water.
  • Allow it to air dry upside down on the dish rack.
  • Use a damp cloth to wipe down the base of the blender and allow it to air dry.

Before you put it away the entire blender must be clean and dry. For best results you should wash both the blender and the base immediately after use. This will keep the food from hardening onto the surface of it. If it is incredibly filthy and hardened you should let it soak in vinegar, dish detergent, and baking soda.
